Conditional Love

 2-19-2013

EDK

Understand me, understand me.

She was spring on a motorcycle along the river.

In a small town fishing under the bridge.

Touching life, by love, I said I'd give her.

Mexico, and the shores of Lake Superior.

San Francisco and the hills, New York City and the cold beach of the Atlantic.

On the train, I said I love you.

On my motorcycle too, with her arms around me.

I held her wrist, touched her fingers.

Let me take you.

I wanted to ride forever, with you hanging on.

Let me show you, this town I found.

Feel the water, clean and cold.

It's only rain.

Darkness entered my mind.

Fear burned in my head.

When love is all there is.

I put my trust in you.

I put my trust in you.

I put my trust in you!

Love that soars on wings and eyes that tear in the wind.

I'll take you away if you stay.

To the mountains and their living rivers.

Skies that will calm your anxious heart.

Wilderness where God sleeps.

If you stay with me.

Understand me.

Absent, isolated when the spirit dries as the wild, rushing river is trapped in your drought.

Fish circle in the pockets of muddy waters.

These lost lovers, gasping for air.

The end is near.

No rain clouds on the horizon.

These gills are tired.

She left me to return to the stationary deep waters at the lake where we started.

She abandoned me when the current became rough.

There were floods, raging waters in chaotic love where we learned to experience.

We were wild, I grabbed the fear and went head first, further up the current of paranoia and anxiety.

Feel this!

This is the present, here, now, feel this!

Death has come to take me away.

Death told me about the taxes imposed on those that live beyond life.

He is telling me I tasted too much.

That my eyes give life, he says, is more than he can stand.

That my eyes know pain, he says, is a curse upon me that I shall know no more.
